A couple of weeks ago in Manchester there was the annual convergence summit held in what was once the Gmex. It was an exhibition for phone, voip and broadband resellers and a good chance for me to catch up wth some of my supplier. As it was a kind of 'busmans holiday', I thought for a change I would let the train take the strain. To be honest, its seriously been years(20) since i have travelled on a train....and no they werent steam engines last time!
Anyway, it arrived on time, which was unusually nice, and i soon got comfy and settled down for the short 1hr journey. Times have certainly changed for the better. The train was an early morning one so lots of commuters travelling to work tapping away on their keypads....and thats what got me thinking. Being relaxed turned me into a "Gadget Spotter"! Everwhere i looked there were people on phones, laptops with dongles, iphones and ipods. In the close vicinity of just where I was sat, i estimated that I was surrounded by approx £6, 000 of gadgets - lucky for them i wasnt a criminal eyeing up the goods! But I certainly was curious if any of them had insurance...do you?
